Text Box: Ladies Guild Centenary Lunch On Tuesday November 16th 2004, at Southend & Westcliff Synagogue, the Ladies Guild celebrated their centenary with a sumptuous lunch in the Synagogue Hall, catered by the Committee. Three delicious courses were served to 120 ladies.   The guest speakers were Mr Derek Baum MBE, who spoke of the history of the Community and how the Ladies Guild is interwoven throughout the years with the Synagogue. Then Rabbi Lew spoke of the present and how the Chairperson, Mrs Geraldine Jay and her committee work tirelessly for the Community throughout the year.  Mrs Jay then brought the proceedings to its conclusion with a presentation to Mr Baum MBE, thanks to her committee, the guests and her helpers. Rabbi Lew rendered grace after meals. A total of £845 was raised on that day.   Ladies Guild Centenery
