BACK TO THE COMMUNITY |

 |
We,
on the Ladies Guild welcome you amongst us and do hope that you will enjoy
living in this active and happy Community.
The
Ladies Guild Committee consists of 25 elected ladies, quite a large committee,
but quite necessary when we work on a rota basis for various activities. This
rota of ladies visits patients in
Hospital
if information is given by the family. Because of data protection we cannot
just walk in.
We prepare a basic Kiddush weekly throughout the year and, when specially
requested, celebration Kiddush are made for
Barmitzvah, Bat Chayel, Anniversaries, Auf' Ruf, etc. They are lavish and
beautifully presented.
Prior to the High Festivals we clean the silver. On
Shavuot we dress the
Synagogue with flowers, and on
Succot we dress the Succot with fruit. On
Simchat Torah our ladies prepare a super brunch for the whole community.
Help is also provided for members when required and this includes allowing
Jewish folk to enjoy a day out with all food provided at the
Day Centre in
Cobham Road.
We hold coffee mornings from time to time to enable us to provide welfare,
including the delivery of Pesach food parcels to needy families and, at
Chanukah we arrange a tea party and entertainment for
Kosher Meals on Wheels
recipients, together with Guests from the
Day Centre.
Our financial commitments are quite heavy and we depend entirely on donations
and membership subscriptions to carry on our work. This is where
you can help. Our annual subscription is only £7 a year and we
would like every lady in the Congregation to be a member of the Guild. We
will do the work - you just help us financially by contributing this modest
sum.
