BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

J.A.C.S. is the acronym for Jewish Association of Cultural Societies and was set up to fill a perceived need among people who, though retired, were looking for a way of using their still active minds. It was felt that age should equate with maturity of judgement, not the apathy of senility. With this sentiment in mind  J.A.C.S. was set up over 25 years ago and there are now many branches and over 5000 members. Although most branches are in London, there are some in Cardiff, Bournemouth, Brighton and of course Westcliff. The Westcliff branch has over 200 members who go along each Wednesday for intellectual pleasure. Apart from their own activities the Westcliff branch also take part in those that are shared with the whole body of J.A.C.S. such as holidays at home and away. These include the annual get together in Bournemouth where you can meet many new people and group visits to Israel where they sponsor activities for under privileged youngsters in the Karmiel Children's Village. J.A.C.S warmly welcome all new members.
