AID SOCIETY – Sponsored Charity Walk – Sun 23rd Aug

Geoffrey Pepper, one of our esteemed wardens at SWHC, will be embarking on a sponsored charity walk along the sea front on Sunday 23rd August, from Chalkwell Station to Shoeburyness and return (taking in the Pier). All proceeds will go towards the purchase of specialised equipment for Raymond House. Conclusion at 3.00pm approx at the Day Centre, Cobham Rd, in the presence of the Mayor.  On Sunday 21st June,. SWHC was well represented at the "Big" event organised by the Southend Community-in-Harmony Partnership, a charity organisation, which helps to promote and create an inclusive and harmonious community amongst different religions and cultures. in Southend.
Stalwarts Sybil and Jeffrey Greenstein, pictured left, manned the stall whilst members of the congregation frequented throughout the day. Jack and Gillian De Metz, right, presented a stall for The Council of Christians and Jews. Judaism was also represented by The Southend and District Reform Synagogue who also had a stall at the event.
